Our Ingredients
To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also possess other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit

Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are given special attention. Breed-specific ailments can be alleviated by the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Barbet-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Barbet. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Barbet belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Barbet.
Yucca
This plant grows in the deserts of the Southwestern US and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used as medicine for rheumatism and arthritis by Native Americans in these areas for centuries. It inhibits pain and inflammation in the joints.
Yucca can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, arthritis, osteoarthritis, the intestines, and the heart. Yucca can also reduce the strong odor of feces and eliminate foul-smelling flatulence.
Parsley
Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant from the carrot family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of diseases that parsley combats. According to various sources, it cures diarrhea, anemia, and ear infections, among other things. It is packed with iron, more than spinach, for example. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C and carotene.
At Yourdog, we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to blood, heart, and kidneys.
Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A, and K. This can contribute to the immune system and eyes, and can support the cardiovascular system and liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, which keeps the dog's bladder free of impurities.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas were cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'banaana' from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, while magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and promote more beneficial bacteria in the intestines.
Puppy, Adult, or Senior?
To help you make the right choice between our Barbet dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Barbet is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Barbet older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Barbet Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transition Advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Barbet dog food.
Storage Advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as tightly as possible, into the bin.
