Our ingredients
To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables

Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Belgian Shepherd specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Belgian Shepherd. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Belgian Shepherd belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Belgian Shepherd.
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is a substance naturally occurring in the body, found in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates cartilage production and keeps joints supple.
Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case for older dogs, or (overweight) dogs, but increasingly also for younger, very active dogs. For example, due to a hereditary predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.
Thyme
Thyme is a genus from the mint family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a very aromatic scent. Thyme has been used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb for lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumors, headaches, colic, and nervous weaknesses.
The medicinal properties of thyme are confirmed by the high levels of vitamin K it contains. In addition, thyme also contains a lot of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fiber.
Thyme is anti-inflammatory and has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. In addition, it stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively combats free radicals.
At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it could positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural bacteria fighter.
Apple
The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the generally known eating apples grow, mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. Apples grow in temperate regions.
Dietary fiber has diverse effects on the digestive system. It can absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fiber also increases the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough waste removal.
Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Puppy, adult, or senior?
To help you choose the right variant of our Belgian Shepherd dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Belgian Shepherd is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Belgian Shepherd older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Belgian Shepherd senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Belgian Shepherd dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as best as possible, into the bin.
