Our Ingredients
To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is bursting with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Podengo português. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Podengo português belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Podengo português.
Peppermint
Peppermint is a plant from the mint family. It is the plant that led to the creation of peppermints. Peppermint originated from a cross between water mint and spearmint. The plant was found in England in the seventeenth century in a field of mint plants. The plant is cultivated in England, France, China, Japan, and North and South America.
We can add peppermint to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the intestines and gallbladder. Preventing itching is also among the properties of the peppermint plant.
Peppermint can promote fresh breath. The mint in peppermint can have an antispasmodic effect on the intestines and promotes the flow of bile in the intestines. In addition, it can have an antiseptic effect.
Peppermint is rich in vitamins A and C and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus.
Carrot
The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.
Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. Carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Puppy, Adult, or Senior?
To help you choose the right variant of our Podengo português dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Podengo português is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Podengo português older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Podengo português Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transition Advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Allow the dog to adjust to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog adjust to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog Podengo português dog food.
Storage Advice
After opening Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely into the container, but to place the entire bag, which you have re-sealed as well as possible, into the container.
