Our ingredients
To make our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dried, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Whippet-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Whippet. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Whippet belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Whippet.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant from the legume family. The plant is also called 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in the Mediterranean region in antiquity. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponin and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.
Fenugreek can be added to our food to prevent arthritis, asthma, and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek, and it supports healthy digestion.
Fennel
Fennel is a plant from the carrot family and is recognizable by its anise flavour. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb, and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.
Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is also rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C and the minerals iron and potassium.
Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.
Tomato
The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small variants were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.
At Yourdog, we use tomato on a culinary level, considering it as a vegetable.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fibre content, which contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red colour. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red colour, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, offer protection against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.
Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general cleansing effect on the body.

Feeding advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |
| 1 - 5 | 35 - 115 |
| 5 - 10 | 115 - 190 |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your own discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog Whippet dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible, into the bin.
